Form builder
When customizing any internal/public form it is important that you visualize what exactly you are changing and how every field sits in the form.
In this article, you will learn how to build a professional form and how to set it up with “Form Builder”.
How to access
Go to the entity you want to customize and click any record from there. Once opened, click on the 3 dots from the top-right corner of the page and access the “Edit page design”.
The directory’s “App designer” page will open and, right next to the name of the entity, click “Form builder”.
Navigate the form builder
Once in “Form builder” you will find all the sections and all the fields made for that entity.
Here you will find:
1. Internal form and Public form, on the top left side of the modal
2. Sections
If you have multiple fields that need to be grouped in one category you will need to use sections for that. Keep in mind that every field will need to be in a section to be shown in the form.
You can move up and down the sections by pressing the arrows from the right corner of each section.
If you change the section order in the internal form, on the public form nothing will change. The sections are not connected to change for both sides.
3. Fields
Any changes done to a field will also be applied to the public form.
The fields can be moved around by the drag-and-drop functionality.
You can resize the fields by pressing the “+” or “-” icon from each field. Also, there is the “x” icon that will hide the field.
You can add fields or sections by going to the bottom of the page and by clicking the “+ add field” or “+ add section”. A new modal will open so that you can set up the field/section.
